How it all began

"We met on a dating app, and I was pleasantly surprised when he didn’t drag on the awkward texting phase. Instead, he cut right to the chase and asked me on a date almost immediately. The next morning, we were sharing brunch at a charming little German restaurant in Basalt, CO. I’ll never forget the kindness in his eyes and the effortless way he made me feel at ease. There was something about his southern charm—and the way he said “I reckon”—that drew me in instantly. That day, over eggs benedict and German beer, I realized this could be the beginning of something special.”

“We met on Bumble, and from our first conversation, it felt like we were already in tune with each other. Our shared love for travel, the outdoors, and our curiosity about plants created an instant connection. We decided to meet at a cozy German restaurant for lunch, where we enjoyed cold beers and let the conversation flow effortlessly. I was about to leave town for a trip, so I knew I had to make that first date happen before I left. Her caring nature was evident from the start and I found myself falling for her quickly. After just a few dates, I told a friend that I was certain I had met my soulmate—and I was right.”

Our Engagement

—David proposed during a wonderful summer weekend at Pictured Rocks National Park. We camped at a beautiful lakeside site, explored the quaint town of Grand Marais, and spent our days rock hunting, paddleboarding, and enjoying lots of ice cream, along with visits to waterfalls and lighthouses. After getting a bit lost on a dirt road, we had a lovely wine tasting. Later, David took me on a hike past a waterfall to a scenic overlook. As the sun began to set, he said, “Yeah, this is the spot,” got down on one knee, and popped the question. With the beach to ourselves, it truly felt like the perfect moment.

And the rest is history

two hearts, one journey, endless memories.
